Calou Beckford

Calou Beckford joined the Campaign for Black Male Achievement as Membership Manager in January 2018. Marking the 10th year anniversary of the organization, he was brought on board to help lead the launch of CBMA’s Membership Program 2.0. In this role, he works closely with the VP of Membership Engagement and the RYMR Associate to manage, implement, and measure the success of CBMA’s Membership Strategy.

Calou earned his undergraduate degree at Wheaton College, where he majored in Anthropology, along with minors in Economics and Ethnomusicology. He completed his graduate degree program at City University of New York (CUNY) Brooklyn college, acquiring his master’s degree in Special Education. He spent the last four years working in Education as the Individualized Education Plan coordinator for the Eagle Academy for Young Men of Harlem, and as the Academic Programs Coordinator for the Cybersecurity Initiative at CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

In his spare time, Calou enjoys watching sports, DJing, and attending concerts. He’s also the CEO of IconTVNYC, a web-series dedicated to displaying some of the most talented performing artists in New York City.
